FERC Issues Final Rule Approving Reliability Standards COM-001-2 and COM-002-4

On April 16, 2015, in Docket No. RM-14-13, FERC issued a final rule approving Reliability Standards COM-001-2, “Communications,” and COM-002-4, “Operating Personnel Communications Protocols.” FERC issued a NOPR proposing approval of the reliability standards on September 18, 2014. In the final rule, FERC directed NERC to revise COM-001-2, or to proposed revisions to another standard, to address requirements for internal communications capabilities, to the extent such communications could impact reliability.
