Balch Business Boost

Minority- and women-owned businesses and start-ups are critical contributors to our economy - important creators of new jobs and brilliant ideas that make our communities and our economies better. Recent tragedies have refocused our attention on the inequities that remain in our society and, more specifically, at home in our communities. At Balch, we believe it is imperative that we all work together to tackle systemic injustices and to proactively support people who are forced to navigate and overcome unnecessary barriers to achieving success.

As we considered ways we could better support our neighbors, we developed Balch Business Boost, a program to support entrepreneurs of color and/or women-owned businesses and start-ups by providing free or low-cost legal services.

The program leverages the experience and talents of a full-service law firm to help emerging and established minority- and women-owned businesses navigate legal and entrepreneurial challenges to building and sustaining success, ultimately helping these businesses fuel growth, eliminate barriers and spark momentum.

Balch Business Boost is available in the following offices:

  • Birmingham
  • Montgomery
  • Atlanta
  • Augusta
  • Gulfport
  • Jackson
  • Jacksonville

Businesses eligible to apply for the program should be minority- or women-owned and meet one of the following criteria:

  • Less than an average of $400,000 in annual operating revenue over the past two years
  • Less than $500,000 in assets or $250,000 in liquid assets.
