More than 140 Balch & Bingham attorneys are recognized in the 2024 edition of The Best Lawyers in America^®. Best Lawyers utilizes a peer-reviewed survey in which attorneys rank the professional abilities of colleagues within the same geographical area.

In addition, 12 Balch attorneys are recognized as a “Lawyer of the Year,” an honor given to a single attorney in each practice group in a designated metropolitan area, and 36 attorneys are listed as "Ones to Watch," a recognition honoring associates and other lawyers, 5-9 years into their careers, for outstanding professional excellence in private practice.

U.S. News – Best Lawyers “Best Law Firms”

Balch was recognized by U.S. News and Best Lawyers in the 2024 edition of Best Law Firms as one of the leading law firms in the country. The rankings are based on an evaluation process that includes the collection of client and lawyer evaluations, peer review from leading attorneys across the country, and the Law Firm Leaders Survey. Balch received 104 practice recognitions, including seven national designations and 58 first-tier rankings in metropolitan regions.

U.S. News & World Report - Best Companies to Work For: Law Firms List

Super Lawyers

In 2023, over 45 Balch attorneys were recognized as Super Lawyers and Rising Stars. Super Lawyers recognizes no more than five percent of attorneys in each state. Rising Stars recognizes no more than 2.5 percent of the top up-and-coming attorneys in each state who are either under the age of 40 or have been in practice for less than ten years.

Benchmark Litigation

The 2024 Edition of Benchmark Litigation US recognized Balch & Bingham as a “Recommended” firm for its robust litigation practice. In addition to the firmwide recognition, six Balch partners are included in the publication as a “Local Litigation Star,” or a “Future Star.” Benchmark Litigation also recognized three of the firm's attorneys in its annual "Benchmark 40 & Under Hot List".

Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD)

Balch & Bingham was named a 2022 & 2023 Compass Award winner by the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD). This award recognizes law firms and corporations that demonstrate a strong commitment to building diverse organizations and a more inclusive legal profession. In 2019 Forbes included Balch in it's inaugural list of "America's Top Trusted Corporate Law Firms." Additionally, the firm is one of only 19 law firms nationwide to receive the “most recommended for” designation for banking and financial services.
