FERC Approves Reliability Standard PRC-004-3

On May 13, 2015, in Docket No. RD14-14, FERC issued a letter order approving Reliability Standard PRC-004-3, Protection System Misoperation Identification and Correction. NERC submitted a petition seeking approval of the proposed standard on September 15, 2014. The Commission’s approving letter order also approved two new definitions, an implementation plan, and associated Violation Risk Factors (VRFs) and Violation Severity Levels (VSLs). The letter order directed NERC to submit a compliance filing within 60 days to address certain concerns regarding the VRF designations.
