FERC Accepts Removal of Load-Serving Entity Function from Registry Criteria

On October 15, 2015, in Docket No. RR15-4, FERC issued an order accepting NERC’s July 17, 2015 compliance filing to eliminate the load-serving entity function from the registry process as a part of its Risk-Based Registration (RBR) initiative.  NERC submitted the compliance filing in response to the FERC’s March 19, 2015 order approving, in part, proposed revisions to NERC’s Rules of Procedure that would implement NERC’s RBR initiative.  In that order, FERC denied, without prejudice, NERC’s proposal to eliminate the load-serving entity function from the registry process and directed NERC to provide additional information to support this aspect of its proposal.  NERC submitted the petition for approval of proposed revisions to its Rules of Procedure to implement its RBR initiative on December 11, 2014.
