FERC Accepts Proposed VRF Revisions

On December 4, 2015 in Docket Nos. RD14-14, RD15-3, and RD15-5, FERC issued an order approving NERC’s proposed revisions to the violation risk factors (VRF) for Requirements R1 through R6 of Reliability Standards PRC-004-3, PRC-004-4, and PRC-004-5, Protection System Misoperation Identification and Correction. NERC filed a petition on July 7, 2015 seeking to have the proposed revisions accepted by FERC. NERC submitted the petition for approval in response to FERC’s May 13, 2015 order directing NERC to revise the VRFs from medium to high.
