FERC Approves Reliability Standard PRC-005-6

On December 18, 2015, in Docket No. RD16-2, FERC issued an order accepting Reliability Standard PRC-005-6, Protection System, Automatic Reclosing, and Sudden Pressure Relaying Maintenance.  NERC submitted Reliability Standard PRC-005-6 on November 13, 2015 and requested that it be implemented along with the other versions of PRC-005 that have recently been approved and are pending enforcement.  PRC-005-6 improves on the previous version by including the supervisory devises associated with automatic reclosing relays and incorporates language to address the standard’s applicability to owners of dispersed generation resources.
