FERC Approves Revision to NERC Definitions

On January 21, 2016, in Docket No. RD16-3, FERC issued a letter order accepting NERC’s proposed revisions of 26 terms in the “Glossary of Terms Used in NERC Reliability Standards.” The revisions were part of a wider effort by NERC to align the definitions of terms used in Reliability Standards and those used in the NERC Rules of Procedure. NERC initially submitted the proposed revisions on December 7, 2015. These revisions, along with corresponding revisions to the NERC Rules of Procedure, will promote understanding and reduce confusion regarding the shared terms.
