NERC Files Supplemental Information in Support of Proposed Reliability Standard TPL-007-1

On April 28, 2016, in Docket No. RM15-11, NERC filed supplemental information in support of its January 21, 2015 filing requesting approval of proposed Reliability Standard TPL-007-1, Transmission System Planned Performance for Geomagnetic Disturbance Events.  Reliability Standard TPL-007-1 represents a state of the art approach to addressing the reliability risks posed by geomagnetic disturbances to the Bulk-Power System.  The supplemental filing identifies the potential need for a minor revision to the Reliability Standard’s supporting technical whitepapers.  NERC expects to provide an update to FERC by the end of summer 2016.
