NERC Submits Comments on pro forma SGIA NOPR

On May 23, 2016, in Docket No. RM16-8, NERC submitted comments in response to FERC’s March 17, 2016 notice of proposed rulemaking (“NOPR”) that would modify the pro forma Small Generator Interconnection Agreement (“SGIA”).  The pro forma SGIA establishes the terms and conditions under which public utilities must provide interconnection service to small generating facilities.  NERC’s comments agree that the NOPR’s proposal to apply consistent frequency and voltage ride through requirements under the SGIA and the Large Generator Interconnection Agreement would be consistent with NERC reliability assessments related to the transforming resource mix.
