FERC Extends Compliance Date for Orders 827 and 828

On August 8, 2016, in Docket No. RM16-8, FERC issued a notice extending the dates for compliance with order Nos. 827 and 828 to October 14, 2016 and requiring a single, combined compliance filing.  Order No. 827 was issued on June 16, 2016 and eliminated the exemption for wind generators from the requirement to provide reactive power.  Order no. 828 was issued on July 21, 2016 and amended the pro forma Small Generator Interconnection Agreement to require newly connecting small generating facilities to ride through abnormal frequency and voltage events and not disconnect during such events.
