FERC Issues Final Rule Implementing FAST Act

On November 17, 2016, in Docket No. RM16-15-000 and RM15-25-001, FERC issued a final rule amending its regulations in order to implement provisions of the Fixing America’s Surface Transportation (FAST) Act. The final rule amends FERC regulations to add processes for the designation, protection, and sharing of Critical Energy/Electric Infrastructure Information (CEII). The FAST Act was signed into law on December 2015 to improve security and resilience of energy infrastructure in emergency situations.
