NERC Submits Comments on Response to Storage NOPR

On February 13, 2017, in Docket No. RM16-23-000 and AD16-20-000, NERC submitted comments in response to a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NOPR) issued on November 16, 2016. In this NOPR, the Commission is proposing to amend its regulations to remove barriers to the participation of electric storage resources and distributed energy resource aggregators in organized wholesale electric markets. NERC commented that Reliability Standards would create no barriers to the participation of electric storage resources or other non-synchronous technologies in the organized wholesale electric markets.
