FERC Issues Order Approving Revisions to VRFs for BAL-002-2

On October 2, 2017, in Docket No. RD17-6-000, FERC issued a letter order approving revisions to the violation risk factors Requirements R1 and R2 of Reliability Standard BAL-002-2 (Disturbance Control Standard-Contingency Reserve for Recovery from a Balancing Contingency Event). The VRF revisions comply with Order No. 835, in which the Commission directed NERC to raise the VRFs for Requirements R1 and R2 from “medium” to “high.” No comments were received on NERC’s filing.
