NERC Amends Petition to Revise NERC ROP

On February 27, 2018, in Docket No. RR17-2-000, NERC submitted an amendment to its petition filed on December 9, 2016 for proposed revisions to the NERC Rules of Procedure (ROP) that incorporate the Consolidated Hearing Process, which would provide Regional Entities an option to select NERC to manage the hearing process. After submitting the 2016 petition, FERC staff raised concerns related to the proposal giving the Hearing Officer the ability to cast a tie-breaking vote. FERC staff also recognized the inconsistent use of the terms “sector” and “segment”. This Amendment augments the December 2016 Petition and addresses the issues raised by FERC staff.
