NERC, MRO and SERC Submit Approvals in Connection with Dissolution of SPP RE

On March 5, 2018, in Docket No. RR18-3-000, NERC, the Midwest Reliability Organization (MRO) and SERC Reliability Corporation submitted a joint petition for approvals in connection with the termination of the Regional Delegation Agreement with the Southwest Power Pool Regional Entity. In July 2017, NERC and the Southwest Power Pool (SPP) sought to terminate the responsibilities of the Southwest Power Pool Regional Entity (SPP RE). This joint petition seeks the following approvals from FERC: (1) termination of the Amended and Restated Delegation Agreement (“RDA”) between NERC and SPP, (2) the proposed transfers of registered entities in the SPP RE footprint to MRO and SERC by July 1, 2018, and (3) amendments to Exhibit A to the RDAs.
