FERC Approves Dissolution of SPP RE

On May 4, 2018, in Docket No. RD18-4-000, FERC issued an order approving NERC, the Midwest Reliability Organization (MRO) and SERC's requesting the dissolution of Southwest Power Pool Regional Entity (SPP RE) and the transfer of its registered entities to MRO and SERC. On March 5, 2018, NERC, MRO and SERC filed a joint petition requesting the dissolution and transfer of the SPP RE. FERC issued this order accepting the joint petition, particularly noting that the proposal will “promote effective and efficient administration of bulk-power system reliability,” in accordance with FPA section 215(e)(4).
