FERC Approves Reliability Standard PRC-025-2

On May 2, 2018, in Docket No. RD18-4-000, FERC issued a letter order approving Reliability Standard PRC-025-2 (Generator Relay Loadability), the associated implementation plan and violation risk factors and violation severity levels. NERC states that proposed Reliability Standard PRC-025-2 enhances currently effective Reliability Standard PRC-025-1 by better addressing the risk of unnecessary generator tripping when voltage is depressed and the generator is capable of increased reactive power output and voltage support during the voltage disturbance.
