NERC Submits Comments on NOPR Revising Regulations Incorporating Wholesale Electric Quadrant Standards

On October 24, 2018, in Docket No. RM05-5-026, NERC submitted comments supporting FERC’s NOPR to revise the Commission regulations at 18 CFR § 38.1(b) to remove the incorporation by reference of Wholesale Electric Quadrant WEQ-006 (Time Error Correction Business Practice Standards) as adopted by the North American Energy Standards Board (NAESB). The NAESB reserved WEQ-006 in coordination with NERC’s retirement of Reliability Standard BAL-004-0 (Time Error Correction). NERC has since retired Reliability Standard BAL-004-0. NERC submitted these comments to support removal of WEQ-006 from the Commission regulations in order to ensure clarity.
