NERC PROPOSES SER RETIREMENTS

On June 7, 2019, in Docket No. RM19-17-000, NERC submitted a petition for the approval of Reliability Standards requirement retirements in the INT, FAC, PRC, and MOD Reliability Standards families. Specifically, NERC requests (1) the retirement of ten currently effective Reliability Standards in their entirety, without replacement; and (2) four proposed revised Reliability Standards, in which individual requirements from the currently effective versions are retired. The proposals originate from the first phase of work under NERC’s Standards Efficiency Review. This initiative reviewed NERC Reliability Standards and identified those standard and requirements that were administrative in nature, duplicative to other standard or provided no benefit to reliability. NERC feels that retirement of the standards identified in the petition will have no adverse impact on reliability.
