NERC Submits Informational Filing Regarding GMD Research Work Plan

On July 26, 2019, in Docket No. RM15-11-003, NERC submitted the First Informational Filing regarding the results of research performed to date under the NERC Geomagnetic Disturbance (GMD) Research Work Plan. In Order No. 830, the Commission approved Reliability Standard TPL-007-1 (Transmission System Planned Performance for Geomagnetic Disturbance Events) and directed NERC to, among other things, submit a work plan describing how NERC would conduct research on GMD-related topics. NERC was also directed to submit one or more informational filings addressing the results of this research. NERC previously submitted a revised GMD Research Work Plan on April 19, 2018.
