NERC Requests Approval of Interpretation and a Requirement for CIP-005-2

On April 21, 2010 in Docket No. RD10-12-000, NERC submitted a petition for approval of interpretation of Section 4.2.2 (“Applicability”) and Requirement R1.3 in FERC-approved NERC Reliability Standard CIP-005-2 – Cyber Security – Electronic Security Perimeter(s). Although NERC referred to it as CIP-005-2a in the filing, upon FERC approval, the standard including the interpretation will be referred to as CIP-005-2a or CIP-005-3a, whichever version of the standard is in effect at the time of FERC approval.
