FERC to Conduct Technical Conference on Vegetation Management

On October 5, 2010, FERC issued a notice that it will conduct a technical conference on October 26, 2010, to discuss current transmission vegetation management programs that are required pursuant to NERC Reliability Standard FAC-003-1. The Commission states that it would like to get “a better understanding of the range of vegetation management practices used by transmission owners, and the reasons for selecting a given practice or methodology over alternatives.” The conference will be open to the public and will be available by webcast.
