Chris Yeilding Appointed President of Volunteer Lawyers Birmingham Board of Directors

Chris Yeilding, partner in the firm’s Birmingham office and member of the Litigation Practice, recently was appointed as president of the Volunteer Lawyers Birmingham (VLB) Board of Directors. Chris is a long-standing VLB volunteer and has been a member of the organization’s board since 2016.
 
As president, Chris will help further the VLB’s mission of offering pro bono legal counsel through its clinics and programs to support VLB’s mission of providing equal access to justice for low-income families. Volunteer Lawyers Birmingham was founded in 1994 by members of the Birmingham Bar Association. In 2018, Balch was named Pro Bono Law Firm of the Year by the Alabama State Bar in recognition of the firm’s work with Volunteer Lawyers Birmingham and its support of the organization’s mission.
 
As a litigator, Chris focuses his practice on disputes involving real estate, insurance coverage, environmental litigation, employee benefits, and general business disputes. Chris has been recognized in The Best Lawyers in America for five straight years, including his recognition as Lawyer of the Year in ERISA Litigation (2017).
