Doug Kauffman to Present at the Alabama Self-insurers Association Seminar on EEOC Guidelines and Performance Standards of Employees with Disabilities

Doug Kauffman, partner in the firm’s Birmingham office and member of the Labor & Employment Practice, will speak at the Alabama Self-insurers Association (ASIA) seminar on August 4. Doug’s topic, “EEOC’s Guidance on Applying Performance and Conduct Standards” will detail how to manage the performance and conduct of employees with disabilities. Participants will gain a deeper understanding of when performance and conduct standards may be imposed on or enforced with respect to those with disabilities and best practices for accommodating those who are unable to meet performance or conduct standards.

Doug assists employers manage their most valuable assets—their employees. For over 20 years he has counseled large and small employers, helping them stay up to date on the law, regulations, and best practices with respect to employment compliance. He also handles complaints or audits by various government agencies, such as the EEOC, the Department of Labor, and the Immigration and Customs Enforcement, and he litigates all employment issues in court.
