Jason Tompkins Reappointed Co-Chair of American Bar Association Consumer Litigation Committee

Jason Tompkins, partner in Balch’s Birmingham office and chair of the Appellate Practice and the Consumer Financial Litigation Practice, has been reappointed co-chair of the American Bar Association (ABA) Consumer Litigation Committee, the premier association for lawyers involved in trial practice. 

The committee is part of the American Bar Association’s Section of Litigation, which is the largest ABA section. Its members are comprised of litigators who concentrate their practice on the rights of consumers and on issues relevant to businesses whose operations are impacted by statutory and common-law rights of consumers. In addition to developments affecting consumer rights law, the committee provides resources and networking opportunities for lawyers. 

Jason focuses on consumer litigation defense of individual and class action lawsuits at both the trial and appellate levels. He has been lead or co-counsel in appeals in the Alabama state appellate courts, numerous federal circuits, and the U.S. Supreme Court. Jason also has developed a reputation for coordinating defense and appellate strategy across various jurisdictions involving claims under the FDCPA, FCRA, and TCPA.
