Walter Boone Hosts Webinar: Do You Know Who Owns Your Patient Data? The Dark Side of Commercializing Patient Data

Walter Boone, partner in the Jackson office and member of the Litigation Practice, will host a Behavioral Health Association of Providers (BHAP) Webinar on March 17, 2020. The webinar will discuss two frequently asked questions to health care providers—who owns patient data and how that data can be used. Topics for this webinar include the role of HIPAA and SAMHSA’s “Part 2” in patient data and ownership, selling de-identified data for providers and electronic records companies, current legislation and state laws impacting behavioral healthcare providers, and increasing protection for individual patients’ private information.
