Jason Tompkins Named to Alabama State Bar COVID-19 Task Force

Jason Tompkins, partner in the Birmingham office and chair of the Issues & Appeals Practice and the Consumer Financial Litigation Practice, was appointed to serve on the Alabama State Bar’s COVID-19 Task Force for the 2020-2021 term.

In this role, Jason will work alongside other members of the Task Force from across the state to identify and address the many challenges Alabama lawyers are facing as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. The Task Force will evaluate the impact of COVID-19 on Alabama State Bar members, make recommendations to address pressing issues, mobilize volunteer lawyers, and bring together various resources, services, agencies and individuals to assist lawyers in identifying solutions. 

The Alabama State Bar Task Forces are dedicated to supporting the evolving needs of the bar association’s more than 18,000 members and work to implement solutions that improve the lives of members, their communities, and the state as a whole.  

Jason’s practice focuses on consumer litigation defense of individual and class action lawsuits at both the trial and appellate levels. He has been lead or co-counsel in appeals in the Alabama state appellate courts, numerous federal circuits, and the U.S. Supreme Court. Jason also has developed a reputation for coordinating defense and appellate strategy across various jurisdictions involving claims under the FDCPA, FCRA, and TCPA.
