Balch Welcomes Partner Colleen Grygier, Expands Nuclear Project Development and Transactional Capabilities

Balch & Bingham announces the addition of Colleen Grygier as a partner in its Nuclear Energy Practice and Washington, D.C., office, further strengthening the firm’s ability to advise clients on nuclear transactions and project development in the United States and internationally.

Colleen brings more than 20 years of experience in private industry and large law firms, including in-house counsel roles at two major nuclear power companies. She advises reactor technology developers and utilities on nuclear projects from early development through execution, with experience spanning commercial agreements, supply chain support, partnering and teaming arrangements, construction contracts, and fuel procurement.

“Colleen understands both the transactions that support nuclear projects and the practical demands facing the teams responsible for delivering them,” said Peter LeJeune, Chair of Balch’s Energy Practice. “Her in-house experience and deep industry knowledge will further strengthen the counsel we provide clients as they develop technologies, pursue new nuclear projects, and establish supply chains. We look forward to having Colleen on the team.”

Colleen received her J.D. from Penn State Dickinson Law and is admitted to practice in the District of Columbia and Washington state.

“Balch’s depth of experience in the nuclear industry and the collaborative approach of its attorneys made this team a natural fit for me,” said Colleen. “Joining Balch gives me the opportunity to bring my transactional experience to a team that understands the industry and the challenges clients face. My time in-house taught me that clients need clear advice on what to do next and how to put it into practice. I look forward to working together to help clients develop their technologies, navigate complex transactions and move nuclear projects forward.”

Balch is widely recognized as one of the leading firms in the U.S. in the nuclear arena and is included by Chambers Global & Chambers USA in their lists of leading firms for Energy: Nuclear (Regulatory & Litigation).
