Doug Kauffman, partner in the firm’s Birmingham office and member of the Labor & Employment Practice, will present at the Alabama Self-Insurers Association (ASIA) Virtual Summer Conference on August 17, 2020. Doug’s presentation, “Employment Law Issues During a Pandemic: When Do You Throw the Compliance Rule Book Out?” will address which compliance rules have been altered in light of the pandemic and which compliance rules employers should continue to follow.

The Alabama Self-Insurers Association is a statewide, non-profit membership organization representing Alabama-based employers who self-insure workers compensation coverage on their employees. ASIA was formed to help employers understand the law and the need for equitable coverage for injured employees. Registration for the virtual conference is available for ASIA members only.

Doug assists employers manage their most valuable assets—their employees. For over 20 years he has counseled large and small employers, helping them stay up to date on the law, regulations, and best practices with respect to employment compliance. He also handles complaints or audits by various government agencies, such as the EEOC, the Department of Labor, and the Immigration and Customs Enforcement, and he litigates all employment issues in court.
