Balch Attorneys Speak with Pre-Law Students at Tougaloo College
Kye C. Handy and Demarcus McGee, attorneys in the firm’s Jackson office and members of the Litigation Practice, engaged in an open discussion with a group of pre-law students at Tougaloo College on November 27, sharing their insights into the journey from law school to the legal profession.
During this interactive session, Kye and Demarcus shared their personal journeys that led them to pursue legal education. They also discussed the pivotal role their law school coursework played in preparing them to become litigators. The conversation delved into their current practices, life within a law firm, their favorite aspects of practicing law and anecdotes from their experiences in trials and cases. The event aimed to offer students a glimpse into the future as they progress through their undergraduate programs with the aspiration of becoming attorneys.
At Balch, Kye focuses on general and commercial litigation. Kye has substantial experience in personal injury matters and municipality defense and has strong working knowledge of various types of chancery and probate matters. She regularly assists clients with deceptive trade practices and toxic tort matters and how to navigate complex e-discovery matters.
Demarcus' practice focuses on both general and commercial litigation for public and private entities. He assists clients involved in class action, personal injury, product liability, and environmental legal disputes. Demarcus uses his experience to develop creative solutions which leads to favorable outcomes for clients.
