About Stan
Q&A
  • What types of clients do you represent?

Typically, I represent healthcare providers, who, understandably, are quite apprehensive of the judicial system. My first goal is to acquaint them with the process and assure them of how we will defend their case as well as their integrity.

  • What do you find most exciting about your work?

Select Matters

  • Medical Staff Action: Represented an OB-GYN in matter where a surgery center had suspended client's surgical privileges. In a fair hearing before a committee of physicians, obtained a reversal of the administration's suspension restoring client's surgical privileges. (2017)
  • Medical Staff/Medical Board Matter: Represented a gastroenterologist who was suspended due to alleged care issues by a large, urban hospital. Successfully negotiated with hospital so the client's privileges were restored. Due to suspension, the National Practitioner's Data Bank was notified, which led to an investigation by the State Medical Board of Examiners. Represented client in the investigation resulting in client's favor. (2018)
  • Wrongful Death - Defense of Parkway Medical Center: Case involved wrongful death of patient as a result of alleged error in administering anesthesia. Spouse of deceased was properly appointed as Executrix of estate, but was discharged by Probate Court before the wrongful death suit was filed. All Defendants moved for summary judgment on lack of capacity; trial court denied motions. On appeal to Alabama Supreme Court, case was reversed and summary judgement entered for all defendants. (2016)
  • Wrongful Death - Defense of EMS: Represented an EMS Service in accident involving ambulance collision with another vehicle. Ambulance had internal camera that showed driver looking away from road; Defendant's own expert had to acknowledge that ambulance was exceeding speed limit on residential street. Jury verdict for defendant. (2015)
