I primarily work on matters involving commercial and real estate disputes. I regularly represent utilities, commercial property owners, and other entities, regarding issues related to property right and commercial disputes from the pre-litigation negotiation phase through appellate courts. More recently, my practice has been focused on the acquisition of property rights to support the construction, operation, and maintenance of electrical facilities.

Many of my clients are subject to substantial state and federal laws that have recently been interpreted by courts or will soon be interpreted by courts. In their interpretation of the laws, courts are determining what obligations, if any, the laws place on my clients. These rulings, and future rulings, will significantly impact my clients' internal business practices and will continue to mold how litigation related to such laws is handled.

Prior to joining Balch, I clerked for a federal district court judge for two years. That job gave me excellent experience, including exposure to a broad range of litigation topics, development of my writing technique, and observation of different courtroom experiences.
