I primarily work on matters involving personal injury claims and contract disputes. I regularly represent utilities in property rights litigation during special master hearings, superior court hearings, and settlement negotiations. I also defend financial institutions and mortgage services in litigation related to quiet title claims, wrongful foreclosure claims, and claims under the Fair Business Practices Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act, Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act, Truth in Lending Act, and other state and federal statutes.

Many of my clients are subject to substantial state and federal laws that have recently been interpreted by courts or will soon be interpreted by courts. In their interpretation of the laws, courts are determining what obligations, if any, the laws place on my clients. These rulings, and future rulings, will significantly impact my clients' internal business practices and will continue to mold how litigation related to such laws is handled.

Prior to joining Balch, I clerked for a federal district court judge for two years. That job gave me excellent experience, including exposure to a broad range of litigation topics, development of my writing technique, and observation of different courtroom experiences.
