About Patrick
Q&A
  • What do you find most exciting about your work?
The most exciting types of cases I work on are those where I'm asked to assist a client in filing a request for relief that involves implementing a new rule or statute. In these cases, there is no formula to rely upon or example of a prior case to use as a model. As a result, successfully preparing, filing, and prosecuting the matter truly necessitates a partnership with the internal utility experts. This teamwork is both exciting and gratifying, win or lose.
  • Which courts or agencies do you most often appear before on behalf of clients?
Primarily, I represent clients in the Texas Public Utility Commission, the New Mexico Public Regulation Commission, and state courts in Texas. However, I have also represented clients in regulatory matters before the Arkansas Public Service Commission, the Louisiana Public Service Commission, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, as well as appeals before Texas appellate courts and the United States Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals.
