About Laura
Q&A
  • What previous experiences, prior to your work at Balch, influence your practice?

I attribute much of my success today to my years working for Mississippi Lt. Gov. Delbert Hosemann, and to my time serving as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Justice Josiah D. Coleman on the Mississippi Supreme Court. I worked for Lt. Gov. Hosemann for two years during his time as Mississippi Secretary of State, and then one year as Lieutenant Governor. Having a front row seat witnessing how laws are made in Mississippi and working closely with the state legislature has strongly influenced me professionally. Working as a law clerk for Justice Coleman was an invaluable experience that allowed me to learn from his decades of legal and judicial decision making experience first hand. I also gained valuable insight into the federal court system while interning for the Honorable Kristi H. Johnson on the United States District Court for the Southern District of Mississippi.
