  • What types of clients do you represent?

    I work with clients that include investor-owned utilities, natural gas pipelines and shippers, renewable and other project developers, and large energy consumers.  

  • What do you find most exciting about your work?

    The energy industry is incredibly dynamic and continually evolving. I really enjoy identifying emerging issues and trends, and thinking strategically with clients to find solutions to new challenges as they plan for the future.

Select Matters

  • Data Centers: Advised private equity-backed data center projects in their development and interconnection to the power grid, including power procurement and latency issues, construction and transfer of transmission infrastructure, and coordination with interconnecting utilities and adjacent systems.
  • Renewable Natural Gas (RNG): Represented developers of RNG and biogas facilities in negotiations with investors and local gas utilities, and advised on issues involving gas pipeline interconnection, gas quality, NAESB gas purchase arrangements, and ownership/transfer of environmental attributes.  
  • Electric Industry Project Development: Advised large electric utility in development of joint substation project, including negotiation of substation development agreements, EPC agreements, asset transfer agreements, and generator interconnection agreements.
  • Natural Gas & Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) Pipelines:  Advised LNG peak-shaving storage facility on operations, rate and tariff issues.  Served as lead counsel for FERC-jurisdictional interstate pipeline facility in NGA Section 4 rate proceeding resulting in successful settlement.
  • Natural Gas Shippers & Industrial Consumers:  Work closely with large industrial natural gas shippers and advise on purchase and transportation of natural gas, negotiation of NAESB gas purchase contracts, asset management agreements, and firm transportation contracts.
  • FERC Rulemakings & Advocacy: Advised and represented investor-owned utilities, large municipal utilities and industry trade associations in many significant FERC rulemakings, including those leading to the development of landmark electric transmission planning and cost allocation rules and regulations.  Developed advocacy strategies to influence key stakeholders and regulators.
