  • Lender liability: Defended mortgage servicer, investor, and Mortgage Electronic Registration Systems in wrongful foreclosure suit, winning summary judgment which was ultimately affirmed by the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals. (2016)
  • Lender liability: Defended lender and other entities in a suit to set aside a foreclosure, avoid a lien on commercial property, and seeking substantial damages based upon alleged fraudulent alteration of a deed of trust. (2012)
  • Business disputes: Defended shareholder in suit to dissolve the family-owned corporation and partition the corporation’s real property, obtaining a favorable result in which property was kept whole and other shareholders’ interests were bought out. (2012)
  • Title insurance: Represents title insurance companies in curing title defects and defends insureds in suits affecting title to real estate. (Ongoing)
  • Creditors’ rights: Obtained a substantial settlement on behalf of a lender in a fraud suit against one of the principals of a bankrupt borrower. (2015)
  • Code enforcement: Represented a lender whose collateral was subject to code enforcement action to prevent potential demolition of the collateral until the loan could be sold to a party who could restore the property. (2014)
  • Tax sales: Prevailed in contested suit to confirm a tax title that was appealed by the taxpayer to the Mississippi Supreme Court. (2016)
  • Construction law: Prosecuting claim against architect and engineer over alleged faulty designs in HVAC system. (ongoing)
  • Eminent domain:  Represented natural gas pipeline in eminent domain suits to obtain property for construction of interstate pipeline. (2008)
  • Commercial litigation: Represented natural gas pipeline in construction litigation with subcontractors that worked on the pipeline.  (2014)
