On March 7, 2019, in Docket No. RD19-3-000, NERC submitted a petition for approval of Proposed Reliability Standard CIP-008-6 (Cyber Security - Incident Reporting and Response Planning). This proposed standard addresses the Commission’s directive from Order No. 848 to develop modifications to require reporting of Cyber Security Incidents that compromise, or attempt to compromise, a Responsible Entity’s Electronic Security Perimeter (ESP) or associated Electronic Access Control or Monitoring Systems (EACMS) to the Electricity Information Sharing and Analysis Center (E-ISAC) and the Department of Homeland Security Industrial Control Systems Cyber Emergency Response Team (ICS-CERT). The proposed standard also requires specific information in Cyber Security Incident reports as well as deadlines for submitting the reports.
