Debra Lewis Discusses 2019 Financial Trends with Birmingham Business Journal

Debra Lewis, partner in the firm’s Birmingham office and member of the Banking & Financial Services Practice, recently was quoted in a Birmingham Business Journal article highlighting the upcoming year’s projected financial trends.
 
Leveraging her deep experience representing national, regional, and community banks in regulatory, compliance, and transactional matters, Debra commented on how financial institutions could be impacted by past, current, and upcoming legislation, including matters of regulation, the Volcker Rule, the Community Reinvestment Act, the Department of Labor’s fiduciary rule, and a potential new best-interest rule from the Securities and Exchange Commission.
 
An industry leader in banking and financial law, Debra has served as program chair for the American Bar Association’s Banking Law Committee and a member of the ABA’s Consumer Financial Services Committee and the Trust Indentures & Indenture Trustees Committee. Additionally, she has served in multiple leadership roles in the National Association of Bond Lawyers, including as co-chair of its Municipal Finance Committee. Debra has been recognized by The Best Lawyers in America for her Banking and Financial Law practice.
