Balch & Bingham Continues to Encourage Women’s Professional Growth and Success in Collaboration with the Women’s Foundation of Mississippi

Balch & Bingham is proud to continue its partnership with the Women’s Foundation of Mississippi and support the organization’s annual She’s on Board training on November 13, 2020, as a presenting sponsor for the third consecutive year. She’s on Board is a leadership program designed for women in the Mississippi area interested in nonprofit board service.  

This year’s  “She’s on Board 2.0” workshop, attended virtually by women across Mississippi, explored nonprofit board governance topics, including the financial responsibilities of nonprofit boards, the challenge of building board capacity to support organizational growth and strategic planning. This advanced training equipped participants with the tools necessary to succeed and lead in the nonprofit boardroom. 

Tara Ellis, managing office partner of Balch’s Jackson office and member of the Corporate Practice, shared a few remarks at this year’s  “She’s on Board 2.0” workshop. “At Balch & Bingham we believe we have a responsibility to set an example in the communities in which we live and work and to raise the standards for diverse workplaces both in the legal industry and beyond. I’m incredibly proud to partner with the Women’s Foundation of Mississippi and support the She’s on Board training program,” said Tara. 

The Women’s Foundation of Mississippi’s mission is to empower and create opportunity for women. It is the only grantmaking and advocacy organization in the state entirely dedicated to funding programs that improve the lives of women and girls statewide.
