Christy Crockett White to Present at the Delta Human Resource Management Association 2020 Virtual Seminar

Christy Crockett White, partner in the Jackson office and member of the firm’s Litigation and Labor & Employment Practices, will present at the Delta Human Resource Management Association 2020 Virtual Seminar on December 10, 2020.  Christy’s presentation, “At the Crossroads of 420 & 65: Legalized Marijuana & Its Impact on Drug Testing” will explore the recent voter-approved Initiative 65, the parameters of Mississippi’s medical marijuana program and how employers can prepare for employees’ use of marijuana for debilitating conditions while at the same time maintaining and enforcing appropriate workplace policies related to drug use.

For almost 25 years, Christy has been advising clients on labor and employment law. She counsels clients on hiring, employment contracts, and accommodations for disabilities, requests for leave, workers’ compensation, discipline, terminations, wrongful termination, severance packages, discrimination, harassment, covenants not to compete, and claims for unemployment benefits. She also litigates employment matters involving claims made under Title VII, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA), the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), §1983 and the Labor Management Relations Act (LMRA).
