Ikenna Okoro Joins Balch & Bingham to Expand Public Policy & Government Relations Practice in Austin

Balch & Bingham is pleased to welcome Ikenna Okoro to the firm’s Austin office, who joins as a member of the Public Policy & Government Relations Practice.

Ikenna is an attorney and government relations professional with a regulatory practice focusing on electricity and natural gas issues and a public policy and government relations practice representing corporate, non-profit and trade association clients. He joins Balch after serving as Assistant Parliamentarian for the Texas House of Representatives for over three years, where he navigated complex procedural issues and developed an extensive understanding of the Texas legislative process. 

Ikenna received his J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law, where was awarded the Thurgood Marshall Legal Society Alumni of the Year Award in 2022. Ikenna is a member of the Austin Bar Association and the Austin Black Lawyers Association. Additionally, Ikenna serves as a member of the board of directors for Keep Austin Fed, an organization that works to reduce hunger by connecting surplus food to Austin residents in need. 

Balch’s Austin office includes a team of attorneys and government relations professionals, who work alongside clients operating across the full spectrum of the energy industry, including utilities, pipeline companies and local distribution companies on issues associated with energy infrastructure and market design, federal and state regulatory matters, environmental issues and public policy.
