Christina Nuñez Appointed to Two National American Bar Association Positions for the 2023-2024 Year
Christina Marie Nuñez, attorney in the firm’s Jackson office and member of the Corporate & Commercial Practice, has been appointed to two national American Bar Association (ABA) positions for the 2023-2024 year. Christina will serve alongside other industry professionals on ABA’s Young Lawyers Division (YLD) Women of Color Team and Liason for the ABA Commission on Hispanic Legal Rights and Responsibilities.
The ABA YLD Women of Color Taskforce seeks to examine the experiences of women of color in the legal profession, identify and effectively address the unique challenges they face, and provide them with tools to build community. The group was built on their four key pillars: Eliminating Barriers to Entry of the Legal Profession, Fostering a Network of Support, Identifying and Addressing Challenges to Retention, and Promoting Wellness and Mindfulness.
The Commission on Hispanic Legal Rights and Responsibilities focuses on developing and supporting initiatives and research to educate lawyers on how best to serve, promote civic responsibility within, and address the key legal challenges facing the Latino community in the United States. The group is comprised of one Chair and nine members appointed by the ABA President. The mission of the Commission is to address the challenges and responsibilities facing Hispanics in and within the legal system of the United States.
Christina’s practice focuses mainly on business and healthcare transactions. Christina advises clients through a wide range of complex transactional matters from contract proposals to compliance inquiries. She uses her experience to provide clear, comprehensive solutions for each client’s unique needs. Christina worked as a judicial extern for The Honorable David Neil McCarty, Mississippi Court of Appeals in Jackson.
In 2023, Christina joined the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD) Pathfinder Program, a training program designed for diverse, high- potential, early – career attorneys to advance the next generation of leaders.
