April D. Wise Named to Board of National Association of Estate Planners and Councils

April D. Wise, partner in the firm’s Montgomery office and member of the Estate Planning & Trusts Practice, has been named to the Board of Directors for the National Association of Estate Planners and Councils (NAEPC), an organization dedicated to providing programs, benefits and services that promote a team planning concept of estate planning. 

April will serve a one-year term, beginning in January 2024.  NAEPC is the national network of affiliated estate planning councils and credentialed professionals drawn together to achieve excellence in estate planning. The organization works in tandem with local affiliated estate planning councils to provide a forum for networking and education.

April concentrates her practice in the area of estate and tax planning, estate and trust administration and litigation, and special needs planning and settlement planning. She also handles other probate court matters, including guardianships, conservatorships, and adoptions. April regularly represents trustees, executors, and other fiduciaries, beneficiaries, professionals, and families with special needs individuals. 

She previously served as President of the Montgomery Estate Planning Council and recently organized the Wiregrass Estate Planning Council.

April is a member of the Academy of Special Needs Planners and volunteers with Wills for Heroes. She is a frequent speaker to a wide variety of audiences and previously taught Estate Planning at Auburn University Montgomery.  April has been recognized as a “Rising Star” by Mid-South Super Lawyers and is listed among The Best Lawyers in America.
