Alabama Restrictive Covenants Act Update
Balch recently partnered with Alabama Law Weekly to organize and present the 2017 event for the annual Alabama Business Law Conference in Birmingham on October 27, 2017. The conference featured speakers (including a current Alabama Supreme Court Justice) on various Alabama business law topics important to Alabama private practice business lawyers and in-house counsel. At the Conference, Balch partners, Will Hill Tankersley and Adam Israel, presented a detailed report and update about the new Alabama Restrictive Covenants Act, which took effect on January 1, 2016. The new Act affects non-compete agreements, non-solicitation agreements, and other fair competition agreements. Adam and Will Hill played leading roles in the act’s drafting and passage and are frequent presenters about the provisions of the new act.
