Q&A
  • How are you involved in your community?

My commitment to my community has always been a top priority for me. While in law school, I served my community as Vice President of the Black Law Students Association and the Law Association for Women. Since graduating, I have enjoyed serving my local community as Events Chair for the Junior League of Jacksonville and the Daniel Webster Perkins Bar Association. I also serve as a member of the Young Professionals Board for both Pace Center for Girls Jacksonville and Hearts 4 Minds. I have also had the honor of participating in local programs like Leadership Jacksonville Next Generation, Chester Bedell American Inn of Court, and Florida Blue Key.

  • What previous experiences, prior to your work at Balch, influence your practice?

Prior to working at Balch, I served as a federal judicial intern for both The Honorable Judge Brian J. Davis and The Honorable Judge Laura L. Lambert. While interning, I had the opportunity to draft orders and recommendations and complete complex legal research projects. These experiences made me a better writer and researcher and exposed me to a variety of legal techniques as I developed my own practice. I also worked with community-based legal organizations like Jacksonville Area Legal Aid, The Florida State Conference of the NAACP, and Florida Legal Services. Through my work with these organizations, I saw the importance of client and community-focused work and gained experience in unique litigation issues affecting indigent and minority populations.
