April Wise Appointed President of Montgomery Estate Planning Council

April Wise, partner in the Montgomery office and member of the Estate Planning & Trusts practice, was appointed President of the Montgomery Estate Planning Council for the 2020-2021 term.

The Montgomery Estate Planning Council was formed more than 60 years ago to provide the general public with a better understanding of estate planning and to promote the services that estate planners can offer.  Members of the council work collaboratively to encourage cooperation among the various disciplines involved in estate planning, and to provide insight to the proper relationship that each discipline bears to the other, their clients, and the public.

April has been actively involved in the Montgomery Estate Planning Council since 2014 and has previously served as Treasurer, Secretary and President Elect.

“Estate planning is a highly-complex, multi-disciplinary activity, and when done most successfully, employs the services of a high-performing team of designated professionals, working together in close collaboration,” shared April. “Membership in the Montgomery Estate Planning Council promotes a multi-disciplinary approach to estate planning and provides members with a broad resource of professionals across disciplines.  Through collaboration with members of the Montgomery Estate Planning Council, I have become a better advisor to our clients.  I look forward to leading the Montgomery Estate Planning Council this year as we continue to share different philosophies and aspects of estate planning in an effort to become more effective estate planning professionals.”
