Balch Attorneys Present at the Human Resource Law Boot Camp 2021 Webinar Hosted by the National Business Institute

Balch’s Ashley Eley Cannady, Bea Tolsdorf and Russell Dumas, attorneys in the firm’s Jackson office, served as featured speakers at the 2021 Human Resource Law Boot Camp webinar hosted by the National Business Institute (NBI) on July 22, 2021. 

Ashley and Bea’s presentation, HIPAA Best Practices for HR: Ensuring Confidentiality of Medical Information addressed requesting protected health information (PHI) and putting PHI safeguards in place. 

Russell and Ashley presented on Hiring and Firing: Legal Dos and Don’ts for Crucial HR Functions. Their presentation included best practices for crafting legally compliant job descriptions, what employers can and can’t ask about, enforcement of non-competes and confidentiality agreements, verifying immigration status and other relevant labor and employment topics.
