Balch & Bingham is pleased to announce that registration is open for the firm’s 20th annual Labor & Employment Conference. The event will take place from September 14-16, 2022 at the Beau Rivage Resort & Casino in Biloxi, MS. Labor and employment attorneys, human resources professionals and in-house counsel will gather at Balch’s annual Labor & Employment Conference to learn from some of the best professionals in the labor and employment arena. The agenda is filled with industry experts who will provide practical insight on emerging trends and issues and actionable strategies to help employers navigate the new rules of work, leave and non-work pursuits.

The 2022 Labor & Employment Conference will feature keynote speaker Jay Jamrog of the Institute for Corporate Productivity, a futurist who has devoted the past 25 years to identifying and analyzing the major issues and trends affecting the management of people in organizations who will present on "The War for Talent is Over... Talent Won.” His presentation will provide attendees with a deeper understanding of the world's changing business environment and tips to help employers think strategically about today's actions and tomorrow's plans.

The conference will also include a presentation on the critical differences between hiring to fill a position and selecting talent to develop a team delivered by Holly Moore with Hollis Strategies. Holly is an accomplished senior executive with more than 20 years of diverse leadership experience in a publicly traded for-profit company as well as both large and start-up non-profit organizations.

Additional presentations address HIPPA and other data privacy obligations, changes in labor and employment policies, and best practices for navigating medical marijuana laws. Speakers include Balch attorneys Bea Tolsdorf, Russell Dumas, Armin Moeller, Jeff Starling, Pepper Crutcher, Christy White and Ashley Eley Cannady.  Attendees will also enjoy the conference’s traditional networking opportunities and attain valuable CLE, SHRM and HRCI credits.

“For 20 years, Balch & Bingham has convened professionals from across the Southeast at our annual Labor & Employment Conference to pursue professional growth opportunities, share best practices and foster relationships with their colleagues,” said Jeff Starling, chair of Balch’s Labor & Employment Practice. “This year’s conference will address some of the most significant issues facing both new and experienced executives and managers responsible for human capital acquisition, upskilling, advancement, management and regulatory compliance.”
