Sean Shirley and Jim Hollis Named to the Federation of Defense and Corporate Counsel

Balch & Bingham is pleased to announce that Sean Shirley, partner in the firm’s Birmingham office, and Jim Hollis, partner in the firm’s Atlanta office, accepted nominations to the Federation of Defense & Corporate Counsel (FDCC). The Federation serves as an international network of exemplary professionals from the civil defense, corporate legal and insurance industries.  

The Federation’s selective membership honors those who have differentiated themselves professionally and personally. The Federation focuses on “enhancing civility and integrity within the profession; providing cutting-edge educational sessions; offering memorable meetings; fostering civil justice and promoting fellowship.”  

Sean is a member of Balch’s Litigation Practice. He regularly represents clients in complex personal injury, property damage, toxic tort, product liability, and wrongful death cases including, but not limited to, electrical systems, gas pipeline systems and their components, child restraint systems, construction materials and HVAC products, among others. 

Jim is a member of Balch’s Litigation Practice. He focuses his practice on product liability and complex commercial litigation. He represents designers and manufacturers of products in class actions, mass torts, and individual claims involving serious bodily injury or death. He also regularly represents a variety of companies in complex business disputes and class actions. 

With Jim and Sean’s appointments, Balch & Bingham now proudly has five Federation members. Additional members include:  Ben Brewton, Chuck Burkhart and Dart Meadows.
